OUR STORY

August 2016

In August of 2016, we met during Welcome Week at Baylor University, just two days before we started our freshman year. Since that day, we became best friends, studying together, grabbing ice cream, and jamming out to music on I-35. Little did we know, we also grew up 5 minutes from one another in The Woodlands, Texas, and got to continue to grow our friendship in our hometown over summer and winter breaks.

November 2019

Over the course of freshman year, Cameron was not able to get past the "friend zone." We remained close friends over the years, but it wasn't until the Fall of 2019 that we started to consider going on a few "test dates." Finally, on November 3, 2019, we decided to make it official over some margs and tacos al carbon at Chuy's!

November 2021

Following graduation in 2020, we continued to date despite Amy being in Temple for an internship at Baylor Scott & White and Cameron starting his first year at law school at the University of Houston Law Center. Long distance led to many miles traveled every weekend, but thankfully Amy's internship brought her to Houston in November 2021. Since then, we have spent many weekends with our family and friends within Houston and The Woodlands.

August 2022

Now, the good part. On July 3, 2022, Cameron sat in her backyard with her parents and asked for her hand. A few days later, Cameron called her grandma and siblings in South Africa and asked for their support as well. On August 13, 2022, his family set up a beautiful display of roses and candles on a gazebo on the lake by her house. She had no idea it was coming at all! Cameron got down on one knee and the rest is history.
